Slow snow fall
Ice sheets and
Rumpled hunch
The old roof timbers
Tremble and groan
Far gone sound of
Millstones milling
Two century old slate
A hush before spring all
Songbirds For now--
Chickadees Turn your
Face to the cold grey
The silent white calling
